The children made a great effort to dress up as their favourite character from a book for World Book Day. They had a great day telling the class about the character and the book that they brought in. They also enjoyed a disco in the hall to celebrate with 5th and 6th class as they made their confirmation last week. Well done everyone!
Happy Birthday Chloe!
We celebrated Chloe's birthday on World Book Day too. Chloe dressed up as Marie Curie, a Polish physicist and chemist who conducted pioneering research on radioactivity. Chloe was able to tell us about Marie Curie and she also made some potions at home to accompany her outfit, well done Chloe!
Weight in Maths
The children enjoyed learning about weight in maths last week. They were excellent at estimating which items would be heavier and lighter than each other.
Golden Time
The children enjoy playing board games on a Friday afternoon. They are practicing their literacy and numeracy skills, turn taking, concentration and memory training through play.
The children also love to explore the sensory corridor, the sensory room and having a bounce on the trampoline.

Merry Christmas from 2nd class
The children enjoyed Science Week. They were very excited to see the different animals and they even held some of the animals when the mobile farm visited the school. We did a lot of experiments during the week. We made playdough, learned about our heart and measured our pulse before and after exercise. We joined the children from 1st, 3rd and 4th class to do the egg drop challenge which was great fun. The children also enjoyed the planetarium where they learned about the planets and the stars.
Food Dudes
The children were so lucky that the Food Dudes programme came to our school.
They all tried every fruit and vegetable which was great.
Farmyard in the School Yard
On Monday 14th November 2022, Farmer Tom from Agri Aware brought an array of animals, including sheep, chickens, ducks, calves and pigs!
This programme is linked into the primary school science curriculum and has been designed to engage students through fun, hands-on activities.
October 2022
The children had a very busy October, between Maths Week and all of the Halloween activities.
It was a very enjoyable month too!
Here are some photos of Jersey Day, Maths Week and the various Autumn and Halloween activities.
We were delighted to get the opportunity to meet Gary, a forensic scientist, who came to our school yesterday.
The children were excellent at solving a crime after listening to Gary talk about our DNA as well as how to look for clues and information from fingerprints, footprints and investigating all of the evidence.
The children have been very busy over the past few weeks learning about themselves and their families.
They drew Self Portraits in Art, learned about Mo Chlann in Gaeilge, wrote about themselves during English and History as well as studying their Family Tree and creating a timeline of their lives so far.
The children brought in blackberries, acorns, conkers, chestnuts and leaves for our Nature Table.
The children are excellent at art and completed lovely leaf rubbings as well as Autumn trees.
We had a lovely visit from Holly the Hedgehog during the week!
It was lovely to be able to see a Hedgehog up close as we read about them in class this week too.
